William W. Crow Jr. was tough-looking, big-hearted man who loved going skateboarding and hanging out with his buddies. “He was a happy person. He liked to make people laugh. He was a joy to be around,” recalled his close friend and high school classmate, David Bowman… He was a 1997 high school graduate and was assigned to Fort Riley. Crow enlisted in the military right out of high school. He went to Korea, and then to Iraq. This was his third trip to Iraq. On a previous tour he was awarded a Purple Heart.
He and his wife, Michelle, married four years ago. She already had two sons, Chris, 10, and David, 8; with Crow she had two girls: Alexis, 4 and Kala, 2. His mother, Kathryn Mondini, last talked to him before Mother’s Day. “I’ll miss his hugs,” she said…
Memories and Condolences
Love you brother, the guys and I still talk about you every day. We pray for you and your family. You were like an older brother to all of us and made us into the young men we have become today. We will be headed down to see you as soon as we can as most of us will be getting out of Alpha Company at the same time and out of the Army. You helped make the company the family that we know it was and inspired us to stay all six years we have been there. Love you man, and I miss you every day.

Hello my love. I’m sorry I didn’t write on the 28th. It was too hard. You girls look so much like you baby. Alexis just turned 5 and it was so hard because it was also the last time I got a call from you. Kayla is such a big girl. She is almost potty-trained. Chris and David are also so big. Chris is almost as tall as me. I love you and I miss you so much. Why haven’t you come to me in my dreams? Why do I not feel you around? I don’t understand. I love you so much. I asked your boy Dean to take care of you. Both KIA. Oh and I know Pittman for you too. You all 3 stay out of trouble. Till we meet again. I love you baby
